The National Geographic Society funds Explorer-led programs that are:

🌊 Protecting our... oceans: expeditions led by our Pristine Seas team have resulted in the creation of 25 marine reserves, covering a total area of more than 6.5 million square kilometers.

🐘 Working to preserve wildlife and biodiversity: the National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project is working to secure permanent, sustainable protection for the greater Okavango River Basin, in close coordination with local communities; NGOs; and the governments of Angola, Namibia, and Botswana.

🌿 Examining the impact of climate change: through our Perpetual Planet Expeditions partnership with Rolex, we support scientific research spanning the Amazon River Basin to further our understanding of rainforest systems and solutions to protect its future.

Join us this Giving Tuesday to support this work. Our innovative business model allows us to invest every philanthropic dollar—100% of donations—directly to our Explorers and programs.
